THE LINCOLNSHIRE GROUP OF THE HARDY PLANT SOCIETY

Monthly Meetings

Between September and April we meet on the fourth Saturday of the month at William Farr School in Welton.

Meetings start at 2pm but it's worth arriving early to check out our members plant stall. We usually have between 120 and 180 people at our meetings, attracted by the high calibre of our guest speakers. Meetings normally close by 4pm after we've all had a cup of tea and a chat.

  • Free tea and coffee after every meeting in the refectory.
  • Notice Board with the latest information on our activities and other garden related events in the area.
  • Sundries table selling a range of useful garden sundries (gloves, clippers, labels etc) at discounted prices.
  • Booking desks for signing up for Workshops and to buy tickets for Special Events.
  • Plant Stall - Any member can bring plants for the Meeting Plant Stall (and also the Annual Plant Fair), just one or lots. All plants should be well rooted, in proper pots and compost, no weedy garden soil. Each pot should have 2 labels – one with the name, preferably the botanic name, flower colour & any details (eg. height, shade or sun etc); the second should have the seller’s name and full price in multiples of 50p. After the meeting sellers collect unsold plants and their earnings. (a small commission is taken by Lincs HPS to supplement our funds).

Admission to meetings is £2.50 for Lincs Group members and £4.00 for guests which includes tea/coffee and biscuits. (See Membership for more details on members benefits and how to join).

Special Events

We hold special ticketed events at some of our Saturday meetings (or occasionally as extra mid-week evening events) with a high profile guest speaker.  With such well known garden presenters as Chris Beardshaw, Adam Frost and Toby Buckland these events are very popular and we are looking forward to welcoming Christine Walkden in October 2019.
